Illuminating Opportunities: My Approach as an Aligned Business Strategist

Quite a mouthful, right? I’ve already covered how an OBM shows up in your business and how they differ from a VA, you can check that blog out here. But I haven’t shared what being an Aligned Business Strategist means to me.
The title "Aligned Business Strategist" wasn't something I came up with on my own. It was gifted to me by my friend Jennifer Curfman from Untamed Creative during a website copy collaboration. She noticed that the label "OBM" didn't fully capture the heart of my work with people, and she suggested this new title. As soon as I heard it, I fell in love with the concept and began embracing that energy. It just made perfect sense to me.
The realization of how well this title fits with my approach was reaffirmed when I stumbled upon a carousel on Instagram from the creator my.humandesign. The carousel described different profiles, and when I read about Profiles 2 and 4 (I’m a 2w4), I couldn't help but laugh.
Profile 2: “I am here to individuate you.”

These profiles perfectly encapsulate how I operate as an Aligned Business Strategist & OBM. I believe in the power of listening attentively. I have a knack for asking the right questions to get to the core of any conversation. As people talk, I connect the dots and gain a deep understanding of the underlying issues they face.
Once I grasp their desires, dreams, and blocks, I guide them toward a path that aligns specifically with their unique selves. I strongly value individuality, and it frustrates me to see others feeling pressured to conform to conventional approaches in order to achieve success.
I develop strategies based on my client's personality, strengths, and passions. I have found that by acknowledging and embracing their individuality, my client is empowered to make decisions that align with their true self, leading to a more fulfilling and sustainable business.
It is important to know my client’s personal values, their desired work-life balance, and what impact they want to make on the world. This overall holistic view shows me what needs to be addressed or shifted in order to have a business that feels nourishing and enlivening.
There are so many ways to run a business. Figuring out what feels most authentic, intuitive, and in harmony with their future aspirations brings me so much joy.
Embracing the title of Aligned Business Strategist & OBM has been nothing short of transformative for me. It's allowed me to step into the most authentic version of myself and awakened my true purpose as a business owner: to individuate and connect with each of my clients, honoring their uniqueness and guiding them towards their highest potential.
