Achieving Business Success with an OBM: Beyond Concrete Numbers

As an Online Business Manager (OBM), I often encounter questions about concrete results and metrics from prospective clients. They want to see numbers and percentages of growth and income directly attributed to my work. However, as an OBM, I prioritize different indicators of success that align with the unique goals of the clients I work with. In this blog post, we'll delve into some of the ways the OBM brings value to a business beyond concrete numbers, focusing instead on the impact they have on overall business efficiency and success.

The Power of Time, Freedom, and Energy:

At the core of an OBM's role is the overarching goal of creating space for their clients to step into their Zone of Genius and focus on doing more of what they love. As an OBM, my Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) revolve around providing my clients with the essential resources they need to thrive and dedicate themselves to strategic business growth tasks. By taking on the responsibilities of managing day-to-day operations, overseeing projects, and streamlining processes, I free up valuable time and energy for entrepreneurs. This newfound space allows them to fully immerse themselves in their areas of expertise and passion, unleashing their true potential and enabling them to make a significant impact in their respective industries.

In addition to time and freedom, I also prioritize empowering entrepreneurs with the necessary energy to tackle their business goals. By optimizing processes, implementing automation, and fostering efficient team dynamics, I help create an environment that minimizes unnecessary stress and maximizes energy for strategic thinking and problem-solving. This renewed vitality allows entrepreneurs to approach their business endeavors with enthusiasm, resilience, and the necessary stamina to navigate challenges and seize opportunities.

Okay Ariana, that all sounds great in theory, but can you share some examples of this impact?

Yep, I absolutely can. Some of the ways I have worked with and impacted my clients businesses are:

  • Streamlined operations by identifying and resolving inefficiencies within existing procedures.

  • Developed a strategic roadmap for transitioning a 1:1 coaching business into a highly effective group coaching/group program model.

  • Guided practitioners through rebranding efforts, facilitating their transition from in-person services to an online coaching presence.

  • Orchestrated and managed multiple online course launches, ensuring seamless and successful outcomes.

  • Enhanced the client experience and team productivity through the automation of technological sequences.

  • Cultivated strong relationships with team members, optimizing their skills and expertise for maximum efficiency and output.

  • Identified bottlenecks in processes and collaborated with the team to develop effective solutions for future operations.

  • Recognized talent gaps within teams and facilitated the recruitment of individuals who contributed to overall team success.

  • Leveraged my keen eye for the big picture to formulate actionable steps and prioritize tasks for optimal success.

  • Specialized in breaking down complex tasks into manageable components, enabling effective delegation to the appropriate team members.

Now you may be thinking, surely there are metrics attached to those outcomes, right?

Metrics and concrete numbers are indeed attached to the outcomes mentioned (and I am passionate about metrics - I assist my clients in identifying which ones to track and how to analyze the results for effective pivoting). These metrics are essential and reflect the collaborative effort and dedication of the entire team in supporting the client's mission. Taking 100% responsibility for business growth or revenue increases as an OBM would be misleading and dismissive of the contributions made by others on the team.

The true value of an OBM lies in their ability to drive projects forward, optimize processes, and establish streamlined systems. By leveraging their expertise, businesses can experience enhanced productivity, improved workflows, and ultimately, greater success.

As you consider partnering with an OBM, remember that their impact extends beyond numbers, focusing on providing you with the time, freedom, and energy necessary for business growth.
